Wind Stength: F4 gusty
Surf / Sea State: Short chop
Air Temperature: 13
Sea Temperature: Icy
Weather: Grey

Distance Covered:

Expected to be on tiny kit from the forecast and was surprised to see relatively quiet conditions. 5.7 was biggest I had and it was spot on in the gusts. Most people had bigger sails, but still struggled in the lulls.

First sail since October and felt clumsy in boots. Water icy when recovering sail for waterstarts, but mild air made up for the water.

Focussed on keeping the sail sheeted in on the entry to gybes - really made the sail light when I opened it up, but if I held it switch stance too long the wind came back in the sail and I was flung off. Then I started to change feet earlier and started to plane out again.

Conditions average, but great to be on the water again and gybes improving hence 4*!
